The band?

Well, The Eisenhowers is not so much a band, more a loose collection of people who sometimes make a noise with musical instruments.

The music?

It's an eclectic and adult-oriented mix, inspired by the likes of Aimee Mann, The Kinks, ELO, Elvis Costello and XTC. We like tunes you can whistle.

The songs?

They all come from the pen of Raymond Weir, who is also a key player for the slinky atmospheric beat combo, Gum. He occasionally writes for other artists on the West of Scotland music scene and is currently working on a musical about the life and times of the Loch Ness Monster.

Following a very positive response to the Almost half-undressed album in 2006, a cast of thousands was assembled and put to work on that "difficult" follow-up. After countless secluded hours in a dark recording studio in the deep south of Glasgow, Film your own atrocities emerged late in 2008, juicy, tuneful and ripe for public consumption. It featured 14 literate, punchy and thoughtful songs about sex, celebrity, love, regret, internet conspiracies and insane millionaires. Reviewers said some very nice things about it. Please read the reviews on this site and then buy several copies of the album, otherwise the puppy gets it.

The word around the campfire is that a third Eisenhowers album is "in the pipeline". Keep watching this site for news about that, although we take no responsibility for any injuries you may suffer in carrying out that activity.

How can you buy stuff?

You can buy the albums from here and, because we are deeply generous people, you can also get some stuff for free.

What is it all about?

The universe is expanding. Or maybe it's contracting ... or something. Either way, it doesn't look that good in the long term. But hey, what can you do? If the music of the The Eisenhowers can make a little difference to just one person out there ... well, that would be a surprise.
